VirtualBox allows them to create a Windows VM (virtual machine) in which they can run any Windows app they like right in Mint. To start with ask yourself why you might want to install VirtualBox in Linux Mint? For most the answer would be they need to run a Windows program that doesn't play well in Wine (see my earlier post on running Windows apps in Wine). For those who've installed Linux Mint 9 or 10 and want to add VirtualBox so they can take advantage of all it offers, here's a quick and simple user friendly point and click guide to doing that without using the command line.
